A one-day seminar on National Science Day, theme of the year “Science and technology for specially abled children’s” was organized at seminar hall on 28th February 2017 Tuesday at Ramaiah Institute of Business Studies, Bangalore.
The inauguration of the seminar was carried out by DR. SWAPNA, Assistant Professor in Ramaiah of Management Studies, Bangalore.
An introduction for why we are celebrating National Science Day and their importance: On 28 February in the year 1928, the renowned Indian physicist Sir ChandrasekharaVenkata Raman discovered the phenomenon of scattering of light, popular as Raman Effect, at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science in Kolkata.
Recognizing the significance of the discovery in the field of Physics and the contribution of C.V. Raman, the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) proposed to celebrate 28 February as National Science Day. The Government of India approved the request and therefore since 1986, the country has been celebrating this day as National Science Day.
